The most important part

Here is the second part of Addie Kate's birthday! We really had so much fun with our friends and family her birthday weekend. It worked out that Addie Kate's party was on Saturday and Owen was dedicated that Sunday. Gabe's family from Alabama (both sets of great-grand parents and Gabe's parents and both sisters) and my parents and siblings were all able to be there for the weekend. We loved having our family in town!

Owen really is the happiest baby! He loved the birthday party even if he didn't get any ice-cream this year.

Oh how we love this little girl! She keeps us laughing and laughing! Sometimes I literally feel like she does not stop, except to sleep! We could never have imagined this little person changing our lives so much and in such a good way.

Addie Kate's Birthday Part I

Last weekend Addie Kate turned two! It is so hard to believe that my baby girl is growing up so fast. It really doesn't seem possible. Last year on her birthday I was in the midst of horrible morning/all day sickness and didn't even blog about her birthday! That is sad, huh?
This year we did an ice cream party. We had her party at a local park and had an ice cream buffet. Here are some of the party details.
I got the invitations off etsy from dimpleprints (the were only $10 and I got to print as many as I needed)!

Gabe's sister, Lauren came up early for the party and helped me get everything ready (Thank God for a sister-in-law who I love and who is the best aunt ever!!) We dipped the ice-cream cones in chocolate and sprinkles and they were wonderful!

We had a little difficulty with our cupcakes so we finally decided to keep it simple with these.
We made ice cream cone cookies for the party favors. Too bad we forgot to take a picture of these until after the party (these are the left overs). These were so much fun to make and actually tasted pretty good!!

Dinner time

I never imagined that I would have a picky eater. I love all food and just assumed my kids would too. Addie Kate however, has proven me very wrong (I'm still hoping Owen is going to be my good eater and so far it looks like he's heading down that road). All of that to say we have gotten very creative in getting Addie Kate to eat her veggies. Like right now we have a dance we do whenever she eats her peas. Yup, we do a dance with every single bite. We even get Owen in on the action. If it works we will keep dancing and dancing and dancing. She loves it and we love that she is eating something green.
Tonight we grilled out and Addie Kate and Owen helped Daddy with his dinner.

She does love corn. Does that count as a vegetable?

No, Owen is not really eating a steak, but I'm sure he would love to. We haven't started him on food yet, but that is coming soon!
These babies love their Daddy... and he loves them!

Three years later...

Three years ago today I married my best friend. In those three years Gabe and I have lived a whole lotta life together!

Just to recap....
The day after we returned from our honeymoon we packed up the U-Haul and made the 13 hour drive to move to Arkansas. Three months after we got married (and moved to Arkansas) we found out we were pregnant. We both were certain this was impossible since I was on birth control... it was not. Our first anniversary was spent with me literally days away from giving birth to Addie Kate. On September 12, we welcomed our baby girl!

When Addie Kate was six months old we moved from Arkansas to Alabama for a short two month stay before moving to Georgia. In June of last year we bought our first home only to find out we were pregnant with baby number two the next month (yes, we know what causes this). Our second anniversary was spent with me having extremely bad morning sickness. In April we welcomed Owen.

This anniversary was spent (not pregnant) reflecting on how much life has changed in just three short years and how very blessed we are!

I cannot imagine living this life with anyone else but Gabe. God truly knew what he was doing when he brought us together. Although this is not how we would have planned our life, we wouldn't change it either! It has been such a fun adventure and I can't wait to see what else God has in store for us.
