Sick Days

Addie Kate had her first stomach bug this weekend.  It started Friday night at dinner (luckily we were home) and lasted into Saturday morning (I will spare you any details)!  Saturday she didn't even want to play, she just wanted to be held. It was so sad seeing her sick and I am so glad to be chasing her around the house again today, even if these days it seems she is much faster than I am!  Even on sick days I count my blessings (throw-up, diarrhea and all)!
On another note, we finished painting the nursery and Addie Kate's room!  Two big things to check off on our to-do list before the little man arrives in ten weeks.  Cindy and Lauren (Gabe's mom and sister) came in town to help watch Addie Kate and help with the painting.  My to-do list still seems very long, however, we did buy the paint for their bathroom and I have all the material for the curtains in the nursery so hopefully this week that will be two more things to check off the list!!

Week 25....

Here I am at twenty five weeks (now I am twenty seven weeks).  It is hard to believe that in thirteen weeks I will be a mother of two!  I feel like we have so much to do to get ready for baby number two.  This week we are tackling painting the baby's room, Addie Kate's room, and their bathroom.  I will post some pictures when we finish (it could be a while).  Unfortunately Gabe will be gone for the next three weekends and two already in February.
The youth group is keeping us very busy, which is a good thing!  We are starting twelve months of service projects for 2010 and can't wait to get started!  This year is going to be busy, but good and I can't wait to see what God has in store!

Polka Dot Christmas...

Not only did Addie Kate get a really cute polka dotted chair for Christmas, but on Christmas Eve she woke up covered from head to toe in hives.  (We took pictures, but none of them do justice to what she looked like). We ended up taking her to the doctor and he put her on steroids and benadryl and the hives were almost completely gone by Christmas morning.  The doctor told us the hives could have been caused from something she ate, laundry detergent, or from her being sick the week before.  Unfortunately there is no real way to tell what caused them unless they come back, so hopefully we never know!
Besides that little set back, Christmas was so much fun this year.  We were in Alabama with Gabe's side of the family and Addie Kate kept us all very entertained.  She was a lot more into Christmas this year than she was last, it is crazy to think how much she has changed in just one year.  By this time next year she will be two and will have a little brother who is nine months old!
