Month of Firsts...

February has been a month of firsts for Addie Kate.  She literally seems to be learning a new word every day!  Recently Addie Kate has been telling us when she has to go to potty or bringing us diapers if she has already gone.  I figured I needed to take advantage of this as an opportunity to start potty training ( I know that sounds crazy considering she is only 17 months old, but hey its worth a shot)!  So, we bought a potty chair and on Valentine's Day she used the potty for the first time.  We were so excited!!  She has used it several times since, but while we were out of town last week we kind of fell off the wagon.  Hopefully tomorrow we will start again!

Another first this month was Addie Kate's first snow!  While we were living in Arkansas we did have a bad ice storm, but this was her first real snow.  She wasn't quite sure about it at first but once she got used to it she loved it and would have played in it all day if we would have let her!!

This past week Addie Kate and I drove to Daphne all by ourselves (another first).  I was a little nervous, but she did really well!  We went to go see Aunt La La before she left for Greece for a year.  Gabe was on a ski trip with the youth group, so it was a perfect week for us to go! On the way to Daphne, we stopped in Montgomery to eat dinner and see Maw Maw (Gabe's grandmother) and Gabe's aunt and uncle.   Gabe's aunt cuts hair, so while we were there she gave Addie Kate her first hair cut.  I had really been putting this off because it has taken forever for her hair to grow and I hated the thought of cutting what little hair she had. However, it seemed the hair in the back was the only hair that was growing and it was starting to look a little bit like a mullet (I didn't get to take any pictures because I was feeding Addie Kate a grilled cheese while she was getting her hair cut, so I am waiting for Gabe's cousin to email me the pictures).  Her hair looks so much better now and hopefully it will all start to grow a little bit more evenly!
We had a lot of fun visiting family!  We are so sad to see Aunt La La (Aunt La Lee as Addie Kate calls her) go and will miss her, but are so excited for her adventure in Greece and can't wait to hear all about it!  (This is us watching Olivia's softball tournament this weekend, it was freezing!!)
