IT'S A.....

It's a BOY!!  That's right we are having a little boy in April!  I am 23 weeks, which means only 17 more to go.  This pregnancy seems to be going by so fast!  Here is our first sneak peak at our little man and a picture of me on the way to the ultrasound (20 weeks).

New Addition....

That's right, baby number 2 is on its way.  We are due on April 14, which means we are about halfway there!  We find out this week what the new baby will be.  We can't wait to start preparing for our new baby!

Bee-utiful!!!

Addie Kate was a bubble bee this year for Halloween!  She was not crazy about
her antennas, but did really well keeping everything else on.  We took her to a fall festival and to a few houses to trick or treat.  Her favorite thing of the night, however,  was hearing the door bell ring and seeing the little kids dressed up in their costumes.  She just loves people!  She is getting so big, so fast!!

Here is my little chick from last year.  It is hard to believe how much she has changed in a year!!  This year has gone by so fast!

Braves game!!

I know it has only been three months since my last post, but better late than never.   My camera and computer were out of commission for a little while, so hopefully now I will start blogging with a little more consistency.
Here are a few almost recent pictures of Addie Kate.  We took the youth group to a Braves game about a week before she turned one.  Her daddy insisted that she try a hotdog and coke while we were there.

my first furniture re-do

I have really been wanting to try my hand at re-doing furniture lately and got the perfect opportunity when I found this piece while on a walk in Daphne.  They were throwing it away.  I made Gabe go knock and the door just to make sure that we could have it and they said to please take it, so we did.  I sanded it down, primed and painted it.  I was even able to use the original knobs, so it ended up being a very cheap project (under $20).  I enjoyed doing it so much that I have since started two more furniture projects.  A hutch that is done except for new knobs (pictures to come) and a kitchen table.  Wish me luck on that one.

Home Sweet Home....

So we are finally getting settled in our new home and I figured it was time to post some pictures.  The only pictures I have were taken before we moved in.  I will eventually take some pictures with our stuff in!

Great and great-great grandparents

A few weeks ago we went to visit Gabe's grandparents at "the farm." While we were there we took Addie Kate to see her great-great grandmother.  That is five generations!  How crazy is that?  Here are some pictures of her with her great-grandfathers, great-grandmothers, and her great-great grandmother (all on Gabe's side).  They could sit around and watch her for hours and she loves all the attention!

Stand up to be tall...

This has been a big month of change for Addie Kate, honestly it seems like she is learning something new everyday!
  • She is officially crawling (for a few weeks now) and officially pulling up on everything.  She is quick and it makes me really nervous sometimes.  She has already had a few falls which means bruises. Her poor head!
  • She is still waving and blowing kisses at everyone, including strangers.  She does not have a shy bone in her body.  Every morning when I get her out of her bed she is sitting up waving.  She is such a happy baby!
  • She loves to clap.  Anytime we start singing "patty cake" or say "Yea for Addie Kate" she claps and claps.
  • He first little tooth has finally come through and she is working on tooth number two. (I was starting to worry that they might never come).
  • Her favorite toys are no longer her toys.  She loves to get into everything, especially if it something she is not supposed to.  My make-up bag seems to be her favorite right now.  She is so fascinated with pulling everything out it.  Oh what fun!

Summer Lovin'

Okay maybe it's not summer yet but it does feel like it (Thank you Jesus)!!!!  This baby loves this weather and the pool!  She loves her baths so we couldn't wait to get her in the pool.  Tonight her Aunt Livie (Olivia) took her for her first real swim in the big pool.  She loved it and was not scared at all!!  I can't wait to spend the summer in the pool!

Playing catch up....

I know it has been quite a while since I have blogged so I have a lot to catch up on.  Addie Kate is changing every single day.  Each day she amazes me more and more.  She is sitting up on her own, waving, saying "mam mam", and starting to pull up on things.  She will be walking and talking before we know it!  She swears she is talking already, she has conversations with us all the time... we just don't understand what she is saying to us.
She is growing up so fast and it sometimes makes me sad to think about how fast she is changing.  The other night I got her out of bed (I couldn't sleep) and put her in bed with Gabe and I to see if she would cuddle with me.  She wasn't really interested and I had to put her back in her bed.  Addie Kate use to love to cuddle and now she wants her own bed, sad!!  I love that she sleeps so well, but I would love to cuddle sometimes too.

All is well.....

Addie Kate had surgery this morning to remove a spot behind her ear.  We had originally thought the spot was a birthmark until last week when it filled with fluid.  We took her to her pediatrician last Thursday and he referred us to a plastic surgeon for Friday.  The plastic surgeon went ahead and scheduled surgery to remove the spot for this morning (Tuesday).
The doctor and the surgeon both were unsure about what the spot was but said we would rather play it on the safe side.  The surgeon did an excellent job and even prayed with us before the procedure. The incision is about 2 cm long and she has stitches internally and externally.
Addie Kate did so well.  We were worried because she could not eat for six hours before the surgery, but she was so intrigued by all the new people (nurses and doctors) that she barely noticed.  When we were finally able to see her after the surgery, we could hear her screaming walking through the first of two double doors.  She was mad.  She finally calmed down and has been doing wonderfully ever since.  She really is such a trooper!!  She even got some new toys and flowers out of it.
Mom and Dad are so grateful it is over.  God is so faithful in every area of our lives.  We all three are ready to take a long nap and to relax after our very early morning!!!

Bonnet

Gabe's grandmother's best friend sent Addie Kate a bonnet yesterday.  It is handmade and is actually really pretty (it is smocked with little flowers on it).  We took some pictures to send her and she just looked so cute/funny!!  She is one day going to love us for these pictures!

Addie Kate has found her feet!! She can get her socks off, but has still not gotten her feet into her mouth.  She started walking in her walker today.  She is growing fast!
